1996 Isuzu Pickup XS 2.2 inline 4 cylinder.
Summary:
You can't kill this truck!
Faults:
Seat cover have started to wear a little.
The seats aren't the most comfortable in the world, especially on longer trips.
After driving for a few hours, the engine tended to lose power due a little overheating.
The air conditioner seemed to really bog the truck down (thank god for windows!).
Nothing other than basic maintenance: Replaced turn signal at 97000 miles.
Factory paint beginning to show some wear and oxidation.
The windshield wiper motor was recalled early 2004, but was replaced free of charge by the dealer.
General Comments:
This truck was amazingly reliable and dependable.
Kansas winters aren't always the coldest, but it never failed to start even on our coldest days.
The manual transmission shifted easily and smoothly.
The truck had some get up and go and plenty of torque despite the engine size.
GM parts were a piece of cake to get.
I never had trouble with the truck and wouldn't have sold it if I hadn't gone to school!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
