1991 Isuzu Trooper 2.8L V6
Summary:
A great overall rig
Faults:
The clutch went out at 132000.
Rotor & Cap went at 136000, I don't know how long it had been since they were replaced before.
The bumpers were rusty, but I sanded them down and painted them.
Bumpers dent easily.
Speedometer cable wore through at 136000.
Leaks A lot of oil.
Carpet is thin, and cheap.
Windows rattle.
No dash kit for CD player.
The 4Low makes a "clunk" ing sound crawling up hills, that shakes the whole rig.
General Comments:
Even though all the little things wrong with it, the Trooper is very reliable, and rides nice. I get about 15 in the city, and 18 on the highway. The gas mileage was better, until I put 31 x 10.50 off - road tires on it. it does great off road, besides the 4Low clunking sound. Overall the Trooper is a great rig, that has tons of uses, and will make a great vehicle for anyone, as long as you're not too speed hungry!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I have had a 1991 Trooper II for 5 years now.
Great vehicle, I was lucky enough to find one with a perfect body and interior. I have replaced all brakes, radiator, tranny/transfer case, exhaust and now the A/C compressor. It is essentially a brand new vehicle. I maintain my vehicles meticulously.
The one thing I have discovered is the 2.8 V6 is incredibly inefficient and gets very poor fuel economy with very low HP. I am considering changing to the replacement 3.4 litre V6. I wouldn't consider doing this if the vehicle wasn't in such great condition and so much fun to drive.
