1981 Jaguar XJ6

Summary:

Not worth owning, but great to look at

Faults:

Would not start in cold/damp weather due to a fuel sensor issue that cannot be fixed even with replacements.

Did not stop if you did get it running due to the brake booster not providing proper vacuum. This required the replacement of the unit 3 times and still never fully resolved the problem. Both the starting and stopping issues are really initial design flaws and the infamous Lucas electronics. You cannot fix these problems using actual Jaguar parts or aftermarket parts for that model year.

General Comments:

When it ran, it ran smoother than any other car I've owned, before or since. It is truly a "luxury car". It's fast, great handling, and good looking.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
