1984 Jeep CJ7 Laredo 256
Summary:
The freedom it gives you is just phenomenal
Faults:
I can't think of any major mechanical concerns I've had with the vehicle, other than regular maintenance things like the water pump going.
It has excessive wind noise when highway driving, along with many air leaks with the hard doors and fiberglass roof on.
The ride is very choppy, steering can be too responsive (shooting to the ditch), and if there are high winds, it can really push you around on the road.
The heater is poor in the winter.
And it can be very uncomfortable as a daily driver.
General Comments:
It's a Jeep!
It's not a luxury car, speed machine, or a practical family hauler.
It was built to have fun in and that's exactly what I love about it.
I'm not the typical off-roading guy, and wouldn't want to do it with this one as it is in amazing condition, and I fuss over having it extremely clean. Other Jeep owners take the opposite approach though. Either way, Jeep owners respect other Jeep owners and wave at each other driving down the road as we are family. Honda marketers are trying to launch this with their cars, but it will never hold strong much like the passion us Jeep owners possess.
I use my Jeep only as a summer weekend vehicle now, and can't explain the feeling I get when I'm cruising down the beach with no doors and top off. All the little annoying problems it comes with seem to just slip from your mind.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I love my cj7 its true what they say about real jeeps being built not bought, I have a 84 renegade and I'm fixing to rebuild the motor after 135,000 miles I love my "Jezzebee". I've spent most of the money I've made in the Marine Corps on it just little things here and there, but its my baby so I try to spoil it. The body of the jeep is a little rough, but it's a lot better than most its age and the frames in great condition.
