1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0L six cylinder
Summary:
I love my Jeep
Faults:
I never had a problem with my old 77 LeSabre. It's the 93 Jeep that I'm having troubles with; the tail lights keep going wacko on me. I have taken it to an auto electrician 3 times for this; they don't make the little control unit that sits in the left rear quarter panel.
The problem, as of this moment, is I step on the brake pedal, and the parking lights and dash lights come on. When I turn on the lights and step on the brakes, the parking and tail lights go out. Is this a common problem, like the exhaust manifold cracking?
So far I have replaced the exhaust manifold, water pump, and alternator in 141000 miles.
It was originally used as a ranch vehicle.
General Comments:
I like the Jeep, and don't want to get off it if I don't have to. I also don't want to let it continue to nickle and dime me to death either. Just wanted some feedback to see, as I said, if this is a common problem after this amount of miles?
I put it like this when people ask me how it has treated me. The heart in it is great, it's the nerve system that is going out on it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
