1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited V8
Faults:
ABS sensor went out at 68000 miles I had it fixed by the dealer while it was in to replace the recalled catalytic converter at 70000 miles the job cost $1500. dollars in the end I was told that it could just be the light in the dash, but it would cost $200. to take out the dashboard. the price crept up from there.
Seat heaters went at 68000 miles.
Water pump went at 85000miles.
The differential started making noise at 85000 miles. My mechanic was surprised it lasted so long. But its still going at 110000 miles.
General Comments:
At $16000. this was the most expensive car I bought -at the age of 38-I really wanted to like it. it had power everything and plush black leather interior. I was really a sap for the extras, but after the differential started grinding, so did my perspective. The leg room really isn't as roomy as in other SUVs. I was upset about the lack of storage space from the very beginning. the spare took to much prime space to ignore.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Here is a hint, don't replace a bad fuel pump with the exact same fuel pump or it WILL go bad again. Go with a different brand.
