1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0 V6
Summary:
A high Maintenance Cheap Vehicle
Faults:
The Fuel Pump Failed. I suspect its the lining from Chrysler's faulty gas tank, many people have had the same problem. In the late 90's Chrysler put a liner in their fuel tanks that deteriorates or dissolves after prolonged contact with gasoline. The sludge that results ruins the fuel pump and the fuel pump eventually fails. Chrysler has refused to help, and the cost is more than $500.
The A/C just stopped cooling the dealer wants 1200 to repair it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited: After 153,000 miles I experienced the same problem with Fuel Pumps going bad. Have just found out about the FAULTY fuel tank and this is after FOUR fuel pumps, inside of the next 20,000 miles at three different dealers in different states. That is ridiculous. Chrysler should make good on this, but they refuse. Although I love this vehicle, I won't buy another Jeep because of the way Chrysler handles problems; they don't handle them at all!
