Faults:

I haven't owned my Limited 5.2 for long, but bought it with a few minor issues that were unknown at time of purchase.

Once it gets to about the half tank area the gas gage goes out of whack, shooting from empty to half to full, turning the fuel indicator on and off, until it gets to just a little below the half tank range and then it works again. I'm thinking it's a float switch, but hoping it's electrical or something with the gage.

Within the past day I got in my jeep to go to work and it started beeping at me and telling me my coolant was low. When I went to fill it however it was anything but low. But once I got it again and started the vehicle the warning message and beeping had gone away, which makes me think there's some sort of electrical problem with my gages or something.

Another annoyance is the leaking sunroof. When I first bought my jeep it was sunny out so I couldn't tell if there was any issues with it. But after a day of heavy ran I got into my vehicle only to sit in a small puddle of water, only on the drivers side seat too! If it rains enough for a long enough period of time it begins to soak the entire surrounding area of the sunroof and begins dripping on other places of the vehicle as well. I'm hoping replaces the weather stripping will help.

General Comments:

I enjoy my limited.

I love the leather seats and the heated seat options.

The stock stereo in it is surprisingly decent, and I especially love the dashboard equalizer and skip and volume features on the steering wheel.

Cruise Control Feature is great!

Heater works great, with an awesome temperature setting feature.

It has great handling, except sharp corners because of its all time 4wd feature.

Surprisingly for a V8 it seems to handle gas relatively well. Although with it's faulty gas gage I try not to let it get low.

It has a lot of get up and go!

Faults:

Front CV joints at 188000kms.

Ball joints at 188000kms.

Brakes disc/rotors at 165000kms.

Headlight module at 190000kms.

Throttle position sensor at 195000kms.

Catalytic converter at 200000kms.

Front seat motor (mechanical) at 190000kms.

General Comments:

This thing puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It has amazing pickup for age and mileage.

It has factory stainless exhaust that I upgraded to high-flow catalytic, amazing sound.

It can haul a boat/trailer/car whatever.

Amazing in the snow (all wheel drive).

Leather interior and Infinity sound make it easy to be in for long periods of time.

Quiet ride, even after 10 years.

If you have one long enough, expect to replace stuff.

It is a safe vehicle. I hit a large bear with it, and my wife T-boned a car with it. Our family came away every time without injury.

Hard on fuel, but other things make up for it.

If it has been maintained correctly, the 5.9L motor is good for over 400,000 kilometers.

Faults:

Nothing has failed except for common wear items such as shocks, ball joints etc.

Interior shows no wear at all at 145,000 miles!

Exterior is rust free, and I live in snow and salt country.

General Comments:

This is one of the best cars I have ever had. It costs a lot to operate from a fuel mileage perspective, but otherwise it has been flawless. It is fast and reliable, and will go anywhere I want on road or off.

At 130,000 miles I decided I should replace it, so I bought what I considered to be a reasonable replacement, a Mercedes ML55 AMG. After living with the Mercedes for a few weeks, I decided to sell it and keep the Jeep as it was superior to the Mercedes in all areas except handling. Boy was I happy that I didn't sell the Jeep to anyone!

At $4.50 a gallon for premium (which is what it has to have to run properly) and 12 MPG it isn't cheap, but I typically put 10,000 or less miles on it a year, as I have other cars, so it's not that big a deal.
