Faults:

Air conditioning hoses broke twice, resulting in air only coming out of the defroster.

The latch mechanism of 3 different door locks needed replacing.

Brake light switch stopped functioning at 80000 miles.

General Comments:

Too many small, annoying things have gone wrong with this car. The 3 door latches is totally unacceptable.

Changing the headlights is a ridiculous effort for something so simple.

Overall, the car has been pretty reliable and hasn't cost me too much money to operate.

Faults:

From the get go I've had a coolant leak that no-one can seem to find. I can drive for about two weeks before the coolant light shows up. I fill the reserve a good bit past full and I can make it almost three weeks without the coolant light coming on.

Windshield wipers... Now there is a set of words that one would never really think would be such a problem. Warranty doesn't cover it. And for a price of 895.00 you too can have the self learning control sensor replaced. I purchased the extended warranty which of course is worthless and a waste of money.

The fuel pump went out at 30000 miles.

Rear rotors were replaced at 51,000 miles.

Cassette player... Do they even sell cassettes any more? Replaced it with a CD player.

Left power mirror is loose. Not sure whether it was there when I bought the vehicle, but the entire mirror assembly swings around if you barely touch it.

Gas mileage for this 6 cylinder matches Cheverolet's 5.7 v-8 at 17 miles in the city and 21 on the highway.

I really had not thought about all the problems at the same time with this car until now. This car stinks and those dealership employees? I think 99% are con-artists.

General Comments:

HOWEVER, I have enjoyed the comfort and style of my Jeep. I like the body lines and like the use of mahogany on the dashboard. Step on the accelerator and you are off and running.

I have achieved 410 miles on a single tank of gas. 98% of it of course were highway miles at an average speed of 80 mph.

Faults:

The brake light goes out when I hit the brake and the headlights are on. Most people have gone and spent over $100 to fix. You can fix for free if you switch the modules in the brake light. Each rear light has 3 modules. The reverse and turn signal module only need a One-Phase switch, and your brake/tail light needs a Two-Phase module. Each module is actually the same. All you have to do is switch the module and make sure it is in the correct way! Walla!

Faults:

Hello, I've had my GC for almost two years now, I have loved my Jeep so far, other than the usual complants about brakes, (myself included). The only problem I've had so far is a seized oil pump, and a broken driver's seat. Has anyone else had this problem with their Jeeps? The steel used in the seats is very thin for an off road vehicle like this! I'm a big guy, but I don't think I'm as big as a few other Jeep drivers out there. I'm 6'3" and about 290lbs. I hardly think that's heavy enough to break a seat. Considering people off road with these and are a lot harder on their Jeeps than I am. But I did buy the Jeep GC used so, it might have been cracked before I bought it.
