2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.8 V6

Summary:

Fun combination of 4wd and convertible - very unique

Faults:

Nothing, no problems so far.

General Comments:

With the top down, it's so fun to drive. I love that open air feeling. And in the snow, it handles with great confidence.

On the freeway however, this vehicle is terrifying. Above 50 MPH it feels like you could fly right off the road. It might be because where I live it is quite windy sometimes, but the truth is, I have never ever felt comfortable driving this vehicle on the freeway. It is absolutely terrifying around or above 60 MPH. Maybe because that is the fear I feel about crashing/rollover accidents. My head sticks above the rollcage bars (I am only 6ft 2in), and I fear that in a rollover accident, I would be in serious danger of paralysis or death.

I didn't buy this car thinking it would be as safe as a Volvo or something like that, but it truly is uncomfortable to drive confidently on the highway. The steering is so light and overly responsive, and the short wheelbase, and lack of side and overhead protection; it's just a disaster waiting to happen. But it's a go anywhere type vehicle, and a lot of fun as well.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I'm 6'2" and I don't see how your head can stick above the roll cage. Even with my seat adjusted to maximum height, I'm still well within the height of the roll cage.

I live where it gets windy too, and I've never felt in any danger driving my Wrangler at freeway speeds - even running the mud terrain tires that come as stock on the Rubicon.

Well good for you. I was sharing my true experience with the vehicle. Maybe you have a freakishly short torso, and are oblivious to traffic dangers.
