1990 Lexus ES 250

Summary:

One of the very best, ever

Faults:

Except for wear and tear that I have to take care of since I owned the car, there was nothing wrong with it. It is a beautiful car that never disappointed, not even for once.

General Comments:

It is the best car I ever owned. I paid so little for it and it has lasted me this long. I still drive it till now. I just need a newer car.

These cars are the most unreliable of any Lexus. Bought one for my daughter for her first car and the car lasted 6 weeks and the motor went. Car had 94,000miles. I decided id just buy her a newer IS300. I've driven Lexus since 1998 when I moved up from Toyota. All other Lexus are amazing.

I own a ES250 in Holland (Europe).

It's one of the most rare Lexus over there (from a former US Ambassador) and I've got attention by every dealer (Toyota ore Lexus) witch even didn't knew there were such models.

I've bought the car with 150.000 Miles on it and it's running like it shout be, just great.

Performence aren't great for such a car, my 30 yo. Mark II will run almost as fast to the 60 Mph.

But I really love the looks, it's just an old-school luxury saloon with it's own face.

If you can buy one, do it, parts are still available and it's the first Lexus (besides the LS400) ever made!!

Try an old LS400 next. You will never want to drive the 250 again... or anything else either... ask me how I know. Very low cost to own if you know how to do a few repairs yourself... even with well over 200k miles. And it still likes to cruise at 110mph or more all day long... I'm not kidding, and I've has 2. Neither cost me over 2500 dollars.

Summary:

Awesome car only wish it was mine, and not my dads

Faults:

The leather driver side seat is ripping out on the side by the door, but is overlooked quickly by all the cool stuff it has in it. the valve cover gaskets had to be replaced and a high pressure power steering hose. and a 7.5 fuse which was the hole problem that the person we bought it from sold it for $500 (lol). the truck hinges has some problems too. it still buzzes wile accelerating, but I read up on it and think it is a power steering Reservoir, rather that the pump. because there was a recall I have herd, about that. OH, and the damn keys got lost so I am forced to use the valet key witch makes the security system go off for no reason.

General Comments:

Well we just got it and I already love it. its got so many luxury systems in it. and it rides better that anything I've been in. the ECT I don't use much, but it gives extra power were you need it. the moon roof is nice and smoothly opens and closes without help, every time. the sound is better than my after market Panasonic system I have in my T-bird, and the factory CD player works like a dream.

1990 Lexus ES 250 2.6L V6

Summary:

Straight

Faults:

I know my power steering pump is going bad. My fuel system is going bad also like it doesn't want to get gas when I give it to the engine. It causes it to miss fire. My tires shredded twice. My yellow light on the front of the car went out. My passenger seat has a tear in it. My front end suspension is very loose like it will scrape just about on every whole you hit. Had a fuel pump replacement soon as I got the car.

General Comments:

It has good handle and pretty good braking and I do love to drive fast. I love the o/d button and the Ect power button it gives the car some juice. I have to admit it does drink gas.
