2013 Lexus LS 460
Summary:
Next to perfection
Faults:
Nothing. I had the rear brake pads changed about 6 weeks ago with rotors surfaced. $237.00. All maintenance has been covered by Lexus CPO.
I bought the car with a 2 year CPO full coverage warranty from Lexus and added 4 additional years; no deductible, no mileage limit, Lexus Platinum coverage. I sort of want (not really) something to break so I get my money’s worth from the extended CPO coverage. But everything operates perfectly!
General Comments:
My 3rd Lexus LS. Had a 1998 400. And then a 2004 430. I’ve written about both cars in the past here on Carsurvey.
This 2013 is just lovely!!! The build quality is faultless, interior materials are top notch.
Performance is more than sufficient, and yes the S class and 7 Series have higher HP. Really who cares??? In Los Angeles driving I have more power than I’ll ever need.
My spouse and I just drove the car from LA to Carmel for our anniversary. It just wafted graciously and silently along the highways and along California’s stunning Highway 1. Our 768 mile round trip delivered 31 MPG overall and in perfect serenity.
The only annoyance is a ticking sound at idle, which I’ve learned is from the dual fuel pump setup. Took a while to accept that one flaw, but otherwise this is my favorite LS yet.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Delighted to hear that! Thanks for your review, my 99 GS300 has 520,000 km on the clock (or 323,000 miles in old money :) ). I will keep going and see how far we can make it!! I am very happy to hear that you're so happy with your 2013 LS as it is top of my list for my next car. I wish you safe and happy motoring!! :)

Greetings Lexus lovers. Just another update of my experience with my 2013 LS460. My mileage is now 90,607 and the car is still performing flawlessly!
I did have one issue that was covered by my extended service. The radiator thermostat needed changing at 89,800 miles. Dealer total cost was $273.00 but I was charged $00.00. This has been the ONLY claim on my platinum Lexus service contract.
I recently had the dealer inspect all suspension and front-end components during my 90,000-mile scheduled service. Any needed repairs would be covered by my platinum service contract. Nothing was out of order whatsoever! The mechanic was surprised in that the front end on these cars typically needs attention by 90,000 miles, especially control arms and bushings.
I had a new set of Bridgestone tires put on at 88,000 miles and an alignment. The car is as smooth and tight as when I purchased it 5 1/2 years ago.
I keep it pristine in and out. The car gets compliments frequently even here in car obsessed Los Angeles.
VERY happy to have purchased this car.
All the best and happy motoring to all!

Hey folks, just a follow up regarding my 2013 LS460. Just now got home from the Lexus dealer & having the 80,000 mile service performed. No charge as the car is a CPO with scheduled maintenance covered, although this might be my last free servicing if I understand my sales contract. The car has a clean bill of health, but I was alerted that I may need front brake pads changed out later in the year. Otherwise I've only changed the wiper blades ($48.00).
No issues whatsoever and the car performs flawlessly. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Happy New Year and motoring everybody!
