2006 Lexus RX 330 3.3L V6

Summary:

Great reliable family SUV

Faults:

Nothing, except the little dial for the heated seat control.

General Comments:

Probably the most reliable SUV on the market!

Had no problems/issues at all. All the electronics work flawlessly (except the CD changer, but who listens to CDs nowadays?).

Only done regular maintenance; brakes, tires and oil.

Changing the timing belt can be a bit pricey, as it is on most cars (recommended at 144k km). It comes in a kit of: belt, tensioner and water pump.

Average gas mileage is approx. 10.5l/100km with regular fuel.

Very comfortable and quiet on the highway (great for long distance travelling). Enough room for two adults in the back.

Transmission could shift faster; even at kick down it takes a little bit.

Not designed for heavy towing; cargo + RV trailer, boat, anything above its height (too much wind resistance).

Overall a great mid-size SUV.

2006 Lexus RX 400h 3.3-liter Hybrid

Summary:

Fast, reliable, and environmentally friendly. PERFECT!

Faults:

Car is basically flawless.

General Comments:

I love everything about it - it's super high-tech and has all sorts of cool features. It's incredibly fast, and even when heavy on the fast-pedal, it gets over 24 mpg!

"Or much, much better yet, a BMW X5. They are better quality and a better drive."

A better drive than an old Bronco II maybe, but in no way are they better than the Lexus RX.
