Faults:

My 2000 Lincoln LS V8 overheated some times, and if you let it cool off, it may be OK for a week or so. I took it to the dealer with the same issue about 5 years ago and thought it was a thermostat. They replaced it then and worked fine for 5 years.

This time I took it in, and told them I think it is the thermostat, and they said it appeared to work and they replaced the whole computer. Still overheated.

Then took to another dealer and they said the thermostat looked OK again, and they replaced all the fluid and ran more tests. Maybe clogged they said. Still overheated. I just took it then to the Midas shop and said "just replace the thermostat". They did and it has worked good since then. So maybe if you are having this same issue, try to change the thermostat (costs less than $100); it may help your situation.

Had the car 3 years, love it!!! She is my baby.

I ran diagnostics when I bought it (cash, for 13g's). There was a "cool pack" causing a misfire on the "#2 spark plug", so I had the dealer fix that. I also changed the tires out and had the car detailed.

I have since had no problems, and have been very good to the car as far as brake changes and oil service. Basically whatever Jiffy Lube says I need, I get! LOL, either way, the check engine light is now on, and the air bag light comes on when it feels like it as well. I don't know what's going on here, but it was shimmying awful bad when I accelerated. I hope it isn't going to spend all my money.

I absolutely love my car, you just have to take care of maintenance when dealing with one. Be good to her, and she will be good to you.

By the way, it's a total chick car.

I also replaced my window regulators at 175 a pop, and that was both front doors =( That should be a recall... remember my car has 130000!!!

This is a good car, if you are good to it!

I just hope I don't eat these words tomorrow when I take it to the shop!! Hahahaha.

Just like everyone else, window regulators (one front, one back), transmission jumps in reverse, overheats all the time, and plenty more little things.

What do we have to do to get a class action suit started against FORD? This car unlike any other has the worse most consistent comments on the web.

Bought my 2000 LS with 76000 miles on it, and have only driven 3k or so, and have had plenty of issues.

Yes it looks great and drives nice when it is not overheating, but what were the engineers on when they reviewed the mechanical drawings of this car?

Faults:

Just purchased the car last month and the engine light is on!! The car is misfiring bad!!

Left rear back window is off track. Had to lock the windows to keep people from rolling it down!!

Check AdvanceTrac light keeps coming on once in a while.

Battery keeps dying for some reason. Had to have it jumped twice since I had it!!

General Comments:

My Lincoln LS has a V8 engine, black on black leather and is fully loaded. I don't have the sunroof though!

This car rides smooth, but I hate the skipping and misfiring! I thought it may be bad gas, so I put octane booster and fuel injector cleaner in it. No Help!!

I called to check the price for a tune up and it's around $250!! This is insane! Are there any recalls on this car? There should be!!
