2000 Lincoln LS V8 Sport 3.9L V8

Summary:

Incredible performance, great value, very reliable

Faults:

Moisture sensing function of wipers failed. They were fixed under warranty with no hassle.

General Comments:

The LS is the best handling car I've ever owned. It has an ideal mix of firm, responsive handling and comfortable quiet ride.

Other than one minor problem, the car has been very reliable. No problems to comment on.

Seats are supportive yet not uncomfortable on long trips.

The car is loaded with luxury items. Love the in-dash, elevator-type, six-disk CD changer with steering wheel controls.

The cabin could use more interior storage. Glove box and center console are small.

The trunk is roomy and flat and I love the fold-down 60/40 seats.

Did I mention that I LOVE this car?

The reason the LS handles great, is because it's implemented and designed on the Jag platform. But, of course, when Ford parts are included on any vehicle, it causes a myriad of problems, plaguing the driver. Stay away from any Ford, or Ford derived vehicle.

Stay away from anyone who is so biased as to say all ford's cause problems for their drivers.

I purchased an end of lease 2000 Lincoln LS in Aug., 2004. It started to blow hot air in cycles. Mostly only hot air blew. If I set the temperature to 60 degrees it did blow cold. Service kept it for 2 weeks & re-calibrated. As soon as I picked the car up, it started cycling hot air again. I brought it back--thermostat changed. OK for a couple of days. Brought it back--recalibrated!! Picked up--blowing hot air! even though service manager had driven it and deemed fixed! In mid Oct. the controller was changed. Worked OK for a couple of weeks, then hot air--needed it so, kept it until Mon. Thanksgiving week--stayed in shop until Dec. 20!!!all to find out they only "calibrated it again"!!! It has been in again for one month now and I am exasperated! Has anyone experienced this phenomena?
