2001 Lincoln LS 3.9
Summary:
This car has been a nightmare
Faults:
With-in the year I have replaced three window regulators.
Right and left front wheel bearing, valve cover & gaskets, coil boots and grommets, spark plug, and ignition coils (all eight).
I have a noise in the rear of the vehicle when driving; it sounds like it's coming from the right rear window.
I replaced my water pump, and all of the hoses and housing became brittle and crumbled.
I replaced my serpentine belt.
Replaced both head lights, fogged up and dingy.
Continuously replacing tail lamps.
Air bag light stays on continuously.
Front end sound like it is rattling apart.
Exhaust scent, brake noise, smell of antifreeze.
Complete repairs on both sides upper and lower assembly (wheel).
And after all of this, my car is still not starting and quitting on me.
General Comments:
I too own a Lincoln LS 2001 V8 3.9.
I have replaced three.
I do appreciate all of your efforts, and I will follow whatever suggestions you may have to this nightmare.
I do wish in all of the blogs and forums that are being conducted, that at least one of us is a lawyer with enough knowledge to start a class action suit against Ford.
Ford is never going to step up to the plate, and correct the biggest mistake in their manufacturing history; they will not take the blame, nor the responsibility.
I will be one of the first to sign the petition if this is at all possible. I have tried and tried to get Ford to step up; but I am too small to fight this giant alone.
Thank you again.
Charles.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I totally agree with what you stated. This has been the worst car "I have ever owned". I will never purchase another FORD CAR. The trucks are OK, but the LINCOLN 2001 LS V8 WAS A BOMBER. When I took my car to have the windows repaired, there were 8 people ahead of me with the same PROBLEM. I was told this was COMMON for THIS CAR.
