Faults:
Brakes under warranty, fixed for free.
Cooled seats fixed under warranty.
A/C short / not fixed yet.
Belt replaced.
Battery replaced.
Oil change regularly.
Wheel bearings (sealed hub unit).
General Comments:
Excellent car that people love to stare at... especially with some nice rims.
Not a car for a poor man, because it does require some maintenance. I feel it gets a bad wrap because every car requires maintenance, but since it's an expensive Lincoln ($46,000 show room fully loaded brand new purchase), everyone thinks it should never have problems.
My advice to anyone having electrical or starting problems, is GET A NEW BATTERY. It fixes 99% of problems in LS's. Due to the high level of electronics and the fact the battery is in the trunk, the battery cells draw down much quicker than others. When your battery is under the hood, it has air flow and thus is a bit cooler. Would you rather sit where you can breath or in a closed trunk? I think you would heat up in there right?
If you take a look at the vent on the battery, you may notice some of the liquid crystallizing as it evaporates from the battery. It's like someone who hasn't eaten in a few days... it becomes weak and cannot perform.
I have had this car for 90,000 and have not had to buy any parts other than wheel hubs (the bearings are sealed inside), $100 and an easy fix, a serpentine belt $20, tires, and your basic oil change.
Some minor issues out of the factory that the warranty covered, (brakes made a noise, cooled seat went out).
The only expensive thing to fix I have yet to get to is the A/C, which is something I blew, so other than that... I LOVE my Lincoln.
