Faults:

I replaced the front brake pads and calipers after a caliper seized at around 66k miles.

I had to replace the alternator after it died at 70k miles.

General Comments:

This was a very comfortable car to drive on long trips, and it had plenty of room in both seats and a huge trunk.

However, it did feel a bit underpowered if you weren't on the highway, as well as very big just driving around town.

The gas mileage was decent for a car of that size, roughly 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

It handled poorly and lacked traction in snow and rain, but it had a super smooth ride and effortless steering.

It looked beyond cool, and I felt the same way while driving it.

Faults:

When I purchased it I replaced the tires, shocks and battery.

Right rear window needs help going up.

General Comments:

I bought this at an estate sale for $1000 and I am really glad I did.

The luxury is terrific and the condition is excellent.

Handles much better than I thought it would.

Had the self leveling rear shock units replaced with air adjustable shocks.

The car is an AHA non stretch limo. People try to look in when I pull up at a light.

Faults:

The gas gauge has never worked on the car, even after I installed a new fuel sending unit.

The left rear power window works intermittently.

I had to replace a frozen brake caliper.

General Comments:

This has been a decent car. I have driven it all over the country, in supreme comfort. My Lincoln is the type of car you can drive all day, and still feel fresh as a daisy when you arrive at your destination. The car seems to float down the interstate. Everyone in the car has room to stretch out.

The 5.0 V8 is a little bit sluggish with the high gearing the car has, (3.08 rear end plus overdrive) but it makes for good mileage on the highway. Mileage around town however was below average.

I've had a few minor problems with the car, but it is to be expected on a vehicle that is nearly two decades old.

Faults:

First off, my brakes caught on fire yesterday. Just bought new brake pads about a month ago. Pretty much the only problems I have had with this car is the brakes, and a nice size hole in the muffler.

General Comments:

Gas guzzler! Well, it is common sense that a 5 liter 302 would suck gas. Picks up nice, smooth ride. Very comfy seats.

Faults:

The pollution pump has been replaced twice.

A freeze plug on the back of the head has been replaced.

The idle air control solenoid has been replaced once.

All, but one of the power window motors have been replaced.

One window regulator has been replaced.

The interior carpet is very worn.

The power steering pump has been replaced just recently.

The upper control arm bushings on the left side have worn out completely and will be replaced very soon.

General Comments:

As you can see by the repairs made to this car, it has had quite a bit of work. But to it's credit, they have all been minor maintenance issues.

The comfort and reliability of this vehicle are unparalleled in my opinion, Despite it's age or mileage.

I was reluctant to purchase this car when I did. I was wrong.
