2006 Maserati Quattroporte

Summary:

Save your money

Faults:

Clutch needs to be replaced every 18000-30000 miles at a a cost of $6500.

Faults with the ECU, which causes the traction control of the car to lose control. Very dangerous!!!

General Comments:

Beautiful work of art, that needs to be in a museum and not on the road!

That's how I'd sum up most Italian cars!

2005 Maserati Quattroporte

Summary:

The absolute pinnacle of driving enjoyment!

Faults:

This car has been perfect mechanically for 100,000 miles! We have had to replace two clutches on the car, which was about a $4500 job each time around, tires are about $2000 a set, we are on our 5th set of tires.

All in all, extremely happy with our purchase of this 2005 Maserati Quattroporte. They only mechanical problem was the F1 pump went after 101,000 miles. Don't ever regret getting this car. The performance, power, soul, and charisma this car has is unmatched by anything on the road!

General Comments:

Amazing performance! The car was designed by Ferrari, engineered by Ferrari, so the Quattroporte basically is a four-door Ferrari! Love the way it looks! There's nothing else like it on the road. 400hp, 174mph top speed, 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds! Love it!

Would you buy a used 2005 Maserati Quattroporte with 100K miles on it today?

My thought exactly. The key thing here is know the vehicle's service history and overall condition when considering a high end sports sedan as the Quattroporte.

I'm just curious how you went through 5 sets of tires in only 108k miles???! And at $2000 per set!! OMG. I bought my last set for my car... 60k mile warranty... for @ $425, (name brand, American made) and got over @ 80k miles out of them before I had to buy a new set.

Some cars really burn through them. An Impreza STI for example is lucky to make it 10k between tire sets.
