1989 Mazda B2600 2.6 liter 4 cylinder
Summary:
A tank that for no reason should still run, but I'm not complaining
Faults:
Replaced the transmission seven years ago, unsure of the mileage.
Replaced the clutch at 117,500 miles.
Replaced the front, right blinker.
The seats wore through and I had to get seat covers four years ago.
I had to replace the stereo system last year.
General Comments:
This truck is pretty ballsy for being a small pickup, I've only put on a performance exhaust and I've beaten a third generation eclipse in a drag (it was an automatic and we didn't race very far).
I got the truck from my dad, and he bought it brand new his senior year of high school.
For being such an old, stock vehicle it looks really good. It does rust really bad when it gets older, I can look through both rear wheel wells and see the street from either side, I could also play mini golf in the bed, and in one spot on the passenger side it's rusting through. Also I have the pipe style bumper and it's rusted so bad I can put my foot through it all along it. The rust isn't noticeable that much except for the bumber and the small spot on the passenger side though, and the truck still looks really good.
The only reason the clutch went out recently was because I was revving really high at the time and for the two years I've driven it, I've driven it like my parents were paying for all the repairs, because they are. I'm not a truck guy at all, but if I ever got another truck this would definately be it. Also other than poser racing it, I've off roaded it a bit so, for everything I've done too it, not to mention my dad (it was his farm truck), I still don't believe it still runs.
The only thing to look out for if your looking at buying one is how the clutch is, That's really all that's gone wrong with mine. (My fault though)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a 1989 Mazda B2600 Extended Cab in original condition; unbelievably the paint is excellent, there is absolutely no rust on the body parts or frame.
96,000 miles with minimal repairs such as a faulty guide light, EGR valve, new spark plug wires, and brake pads. Air conditioner has only been serviced twice, adding R12 refrigerant, and still cools great.
The 2.3 engine is not a power house, but economically it has been an excellent vehicle.
This vehicle came with chrome slotted steel wheels size 14 inch and 205/75/R14 tires, which are difficult to find in my area. The chrome wheels are in very good condition and I do not want to have to change. It's just that 14 inch wheels are not popular any longer.
The interior does have vinyl damage on the doors and the seat trim. The fabric on the seats has no visible damage at all.
