2008 Mazda CX-7 Touring 2.3 turbo
Summary:
Pretty awesome car
Faults:
My brakes had to be replaced a week after I bought the car because they kept scrubbing.
The sliver circular cover around the gear stick gets scratched easily.
General Comments:
Goes fast when you need it, and just right otherwise.
The dash collects dust too much.
When something falls between the seats, it's hard to get out.
The windshield is difficult to clean.
If you have been driving for a long distance, constantly punching the gas pedal, you need to let the car sit for about 30 seconds to a minute so you don't damage the turbo.
Gets the best gas mileage when the highest choice of gas is put in.
The stereo is great.
The blue headlights are pretty cool.
I haven't had any brake lights or tail lights go out since I have bought it.
If you're riding in the back seat, and you're smoking and go to flick the ashes out the window, they will fly right back in.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

If you're driving for a long distance, you don't have to pull over and wait to cool the turbo. Where did you get that idea. Use sys oil, it's a turbo, every tractor trailer is a turbo, and they can't pull over every hour. You need a new dealer my friend.

I think the original poster was trying to say to let the car sit for around 30 seconds to minute after hard driving 'BEFORE' switching off the engine, so the oil pressure doesn't suddenly disappear, causing the turbo to get damaged with no oil.

That is not what the original poster meant. He is saying that with a turbo charged vehicle, before you turn off the engine, you should wait for 30 seconds, at idle, to let the turbo cool down. This prevents the oil from caramelizing in the hot turbo, and eventually ruining it. But, you are correct; using a good synthetic oil virtually eliminates the need for the 30 second cooldown.

"If you're riding in the back seat, and you're smoking and go to flick the ashes out the window, they will fly right back in."
There's a simple solution that I have discovered to remedy this problem: quit smoking.
