1986 Mercedes-Benz W124 300 E
Summary:
Brilliant, a true testament to the magic of old cars
Faults:
Some cracked paint on the hood, natural wear.
Back left window motor broke.
Cruise control not working.
Radio fried, but can easily replace with a more modern one.
General Comments:
This car is a pleasure to have received, coming from my grandparents who kept this car in mint condition. This thing feels like a starship when it accelerates, with a slow, smooth acceleration that seems to never let up. At speed, this car is comfortable enough to lull you out of focus, but handles well enough to entertain you.
The interior is brilliantly designed, with certain unnecessary touches (like dropping the back headrests but not bringing them up) that make it feel like you own a real nice car. With good care this car feels like a plane on course to a target; speedy, strong, and solid.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The cause of your rich running and associated problems may be a faulty fuel injection computer, often known as an ECU. Is expensive to buy a new one, but a second hand one will be cheaper. A mechanic will be able to tell you if this is the case.
