1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 5.0L 302 ci
Summary:
A fantastic car at a very reasonable price
Faults:
Exhaust pipe corroded.
Parking brake assembly had to be replaced.
Drivers power door lock actuator has failed.
Not wrong, but many misunderstand the optional automatic heater controls. It will blow air in defrost setting anytime, but only blows air on the heat setting when it reaches the programmed temperature to keep from blowing cold air on your feet. The Owner's manual explains this.
General Comments:
This was my first '91 Grand Marquis. Tan in color.
Love the ride. Lots of room for the wife and child.
Full frame construction and an airbag for safety.
Fantastic ride on our lousy rough roads. It is my daily driver.
Highway averages 24 mpg, combined city/hwy 18, all city 15.
Love the car. An older non classic that gets you there in comfort. Lots of legroom for taller people like me.
Easy to work on and mechanical parts are readily available anywhere. Cosmetic pieces on a 20 year old car are harder to find.
Mine is very clean and in great condition. I have had many people at carwashes and gas stations ask about it.
Mine has the traction loc rear axle (both wheels have power in case one slips) and it does very well in the snow.
I love it enough that I bought a second one.
Unfortunately, they will never make them this way again.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The last Grand Marquis rolled off the assembly line earlier this month :(
