2001 Mercury Sable LS Premium 3.0L Duratec
Summary:
Be sure to look long and hard at Toyota and Honda if you are considering a Sable (or Taurus)
Faults:
Anti-theft malfunctioned and would not read coded keys (car wouldn't start), and Driver's window motor (at 20,000+/-miles).
Front brake rotors, Blower motor for interior fan, Interior water leak from passenger side cowl area, and, the Long block (engine) was replaced because "it was not properly cleaned of metal shavings when manufactured" (all at 35,400 miles).
General Comments:
All issues were covered promptly and courteously at the dealer. I was given a loaner car (new Sable) each time.
It is only because of the dealer I might purchase another Ford product. It will depend on what happens over the next 100,000 miles or so.
Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Sorry about the metal shavings, that's ridiculous I have wrecked in one of these sable and they are really safe the car was totaled, but I was fine great engine no problems so far and it looks really good, Gusto.
