2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.4
Summary:
Reliable, fast and economical - perfect!
Faults:
Nothing major so far; the car has been reliable during the 6,000 miles I have put on it. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way.
General Comments:
I had originally looked for a V6 due to the style and beautiful lines of the car, but had so much trouble trying to find a good condition manual that I gave the 4 cylinder a shot. I took my time in finding the right one, a very well kept one owner GS manual, and am now glad that I looked at the 4 cylinder, because the car is just great.
It handles and performs very well, especially with an AEM cold air intake installed; it sounds and performs like a bigger engined vehicle, yet the fuel economy is still good.
The silver paint is amazing and always turns a head.
My only complaint is the wind noise with the roof fully opened, but not that big of a deal.
Overall I am very satisfied with the car; it looks amazing, is reliable, quick and gets great fuel economy. I think I will keep this car for a while before looking at anything else, although the new shape Eclipse is starting to grow on me, so maybe?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I now have 73,000 miles on the car and have not had a single problem. Some slight rattles from the dash are annoying, and long drives are tiresome due to road noise etc. but it is a sports vehicle after all. Road holding is exceptional, and am averaging 30+ mpg with regular gas on highway driving is not too bad either, the V6 needs higher octane gas which was one of the reasons why I settled on the 4 cylinder. Overall the car is pretty reliable, and I'm not sure if I want to keep it for a few more years or get something a little bigger for the comfort and smoothness factor.
