1994 Mitsubishi Galant LS V4
Summary:
I would recommend this car to anyone!
Faults:
Timing belt replaced at 80,000 miles. This was not a big deal and was caught before it busted while on the road.
Water pump has been replaced twice.
Air conditioning has frequent problems after about 3 years of owning.
Power windows on both front driver's side and passenger side are losing momentum. In winter, the window motor is so weak, windows will not even roll up, so we don't ever roll them down in cold weather.
The radio antenna quick going up and down after 70,000 miles. Radio still works however, just loses stations fast.
Loud clicking noises come from under the passenger side airbag. Has been checked out and problem not resolved.
General Comments:
No major mechanical problems at all. We have never had any transmission or engine problems.
This is the most reliable, dependable vehicle we have ever owned. We have had this car since it was brand new in 1994 and it is still going strong!
We are very surprised that the Montero has not had good ratings because we were thinking of trading this one (1994 Galant LS) for a Montero, but maybe we'll just stick to the new Galants.
The car is roomy and comfortable and although is is over ten years old, it still has a sporty, classy look to it!
I love my Galant LS and plan on keeping it for another few years. There is no doubt in my mind that it is up for the challenge!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a '94 and the clicking noise under the passenger side airbad is the plastic gears that open the actuator to let fresh air in. Take the glove box out and you can pin point where the noise is coming from so you can fix it.

94 was the best looking Galant in my opinion. Only year for the power bulge in the hood. With the rear spoiler that was on mine and the sunroof, it is a classy car. I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago with 130,000 miles for $500, about what the previous owner owed the garage for changing the timing belt and water pump. I knew it needed more (bent valves) so I put another 100 bucks into it an drove it. Gave it to my daughter when she turned 16.
During that time, I put struts and mounts, sway bar bushings and links, control arms, rear knuckle bushings, rear camber kit, brakes, O2 sensors, flex pipe and other things typical for a car that age. Changed the RF window regulator after I bought it, and put a fixed antenna after her friends destroyed the electric one twice. AC always works. Burns oil, but reliable. Tranny thumps before a stop, changed roll stop and motor mounts, helped, but did not cure. Any Ideas?
Son wrecked the car last fall, but I just put a $100 junk yard hood (same color with bulge!) headlight assembly and a new Taiwan header panel (cheaper than used, but fits POORLY). Just changed all the hubs, pads, rotors, drums, shoes and radiator as a precaution as Daughter will take to college out of state.
Overall I love the car! 26-32mpg. Decent power/handling. Lots of aftermarket parts (Eclipse) to improve if wanted. Not as trouble free as my Toyota Previa with 230,000 miles, but a decent car with a few issues, but not bad after 185,000 miles!

Must be one of those rare non existed V4 engines.
Unless you mean V6.
