Faults:

Replaced the original Clutch which held up for 300,000km.

General Comments:

I bought it originally instead of renting a car, and only planned on keeping it for about two weeks (it was that cheap).

It handles like no other car available for even three times the money. I have embarrassed drivers of some very expensive sports cars on winding roads.

The interior still doesn't look overly dated like most cars from this era do, and has a very hight level of materials, fit, and finish.

The engine in this car was a let down. It was more reliable than anyone could ever wish for, but it lacked the performance that the rest of this car was designed for.

Faults:

Transmission was replaced with a used one at around 90,000 miles.

Carpet wears at the driver's side, where you rest your foot.

Fuel Injectors were replaced at around 75,000 miles as they were leaking badly. Apparently this is a common problem for this years injectors.

Electrical system seems to be really bad. My brake lights were wired incorrectly and caused the third brake light to burn hot and melt the housing. Moreover, the cruise control would not work with the headlights on. After re-wiring the brake light, the dimmer does not work.

General Comments:

This is one of my favorite cars I have owned. The styling is superb and sporty.

The seats are comfortable in the front. The rear seats are not really for use.

The suspension is great and it handles like a sports car.

If I were to buy a 240sx I would probably look to purchasing a new model than this year. In reading around about the car, I find this year to have many issues with the electrical and fuel injectors.

Faults:

When I first got my 240sx everything ran perfect. The only problem was it was manual and I had never driven manual before. I was teaching myself how to drive as I went down 101N and I accidentally down shifted from 5th gear to 2nd. That caused my transmission to get really tough to switch gears fast.

The next problem was my "check engine" light stays on for no reason. I had a mechanic check it for me and he said he could not find anything wrong with the engine.

After that, my rear passenger tire was defective. Out of no where it was missing a entire stud and another stud was broken half way. Very dangerous.

My A/C compressor broke and still cannot find the right part for it.

Just last night my driver seat completely broke off the left hinge while reaching into my pocket.

After fixing the studs previously, another stud completely broke off again. What Luck?

Pop-up sun roof leaks time to time.

General Comments:

The car was fairly cheap and runs great. Good acceleration from the line.

I don't like how it tops off at 115mph when I know it could go faster because it wasn't even close to the red line.

Looks really sporty and handles better than any other car I have driven before, even a 2003 GT Mustang.

I don't like how small the interior is, I'm 5'11 and I need a couple more inches.
