1990 Nissan 240SX 2.4 L 12 valve
Summary:
I've had many cars and this is one of my favourite!
Faults:
Clutch fan wore out causing the A/C to overheat.
Motor has a tick noise until it's warm.
Frame over the right rear axle rusting through.
Rear disc splash guards rusted off.
General Comments:
My car has been a great car and although there were some little problems it's doing very well for an 11 year old car that I drive fairly hard at times.
It has been driven in the winter by the previous owner which contributed to the small hole in the frame, that will be easily fixed by the way, but the car has the original paint and it still looks awesome!!!
The car handles excellent and the ride is firm but smooth, the only thing I don't really like are the confining seats when on a trip. I tend to get a back ache after driving a fair distance.
I put Cooper Cobra 60's on the car, they make the car hug the road like it was part of it. These tires are a bit softer and will wear faster, but are well worth it and it even performs well in wet conditions.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a 1990 Nissan 240SX XE, and it is just like you said, the most persistant and durable car I have ever seen. My 240 has about 200,000 miles on its 2.4L 12V engine and it's still going strong.
The only problems that I have had with this car are the front driver's seat broke and could not recline, the muffler had a hole in it, the antenna refused to go up and down, it's burning oil, smoking out the back, the odometer stopped at 134,000 miles and the gas mileage has gone to 18-20 mpg. I know that seems like a lot, but on a car this old with this many miles that's nothing.
I redline every gear, and bring it up to speeds well over the speed limit, and every morning the car starts up and begs for more. I have changed only things that needed to be changed to fit my teenage lifestyle. I changed the head unit to a 1 disc AM/FM, I added 2 10" subwoofers in the trunk, changed the muffler to performance, put hyper white lights in the front, and I am contemplating throwing in an intake system and fog lamps.
I have no fears about this car, I plan on taking it to college with me next September and I plan on it staying strong, powerful and fun until I am forced to sell it (knock on wood). Nissan, I thank you and I definitely will be back to you for my second car, and all the cars after that.
