Faults:
The transmission filter needed changed at at 160,000 miles. None of the replacement filters being sold for this car at the parts store actually matched the filter that came on the car.
Rear wheel drive proves an interesting experience in this car when driven in the rain.
The seams in the top began rotting at 155,000 miles. They have since become quite a costly problem. The back window actually began to rip out whenever the top was up while I drove, and the windows were down at the same time. This has caused severe visual complications with the back window, and the blind spots are magnified because of this. The top has also began to leak as of about 162,000 miles.
People seem to have a fascination with stealing things from this particular car. Make sure it a convertible has a car alarm.
The backseat is very, very small. Although it doesn't stop people from wanting to ride with me everywhere.
This is not a major problem for most people, but the gas pedal is close to the wall of the floor board and this makes it feel crooked.
The door panels have almost come completely off of the doors.
General Comments:
This car is an amazing ride.
The problems I have listed for my car can all be fixed.
It hugs and grips corners, and curves.
It is beautiful, especially if the nose is well kept, and the paint is protected. Adding a nice set of wheels to the 240 convertible potentially makes it the most popular car around.
Also, my 240sx does have working power everything, and working cruise control.
