1995 Nissan 300ZX Twin turbo
Summary:
A true classic sports car
Faults:
No repairs other than expected wear parts like brakes and timing belt.
General Comments:
What a great sports car was meant to be. The 1995 is my third Z car and a wonderful return to true sports car handling and zip after my 1986 300ZX which was classy, but sluggish.
I purchased this Z used with about 50,000 miles on it and it now has about 90,000. This Z, like all I have had, has been very trouble free. Of course a car with this much power is a tire eater and hard composition tires just won't work. I have had very good performance from the old Bridgestone Potenza RE71's when they were available and now I am riding on Kumho Ecsta Supras that have excellent traction and handling. I do not yet know if they will get more than the 14,000-15,000 miles that I usually get on Z tires, but am hoping.
I did have to replace the clutch cylinders and timing belt/water pump, but I consider these to be normal wear and tear.
If you want a sports car that you can depend on and which will drive and look like a dream I would definitely recommend a Z, especially the 1995, 1996 300ZX with or without the Turbo. As for me, when this one is finished with me I will most definitely be purchasing a 350ZX.
Thank you Nissan, thank you.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

There won't be any cars left around by the time you are old enough to drive? Do you have advance knowledge of some cataclysmic event that would result in this scenario?

Careful of posting rude comments on a forum, especially when you might be missing his point... and ESPECIALLY when the kid was only 12! No need to flex for the poor lad, especially when he probably meant that there might not be any 300Z's left for him when he's old enough.
Of course, we know that's totally not true anyway. It's a great car and if nothing else will, it's loyal enthusiasts will keep it going for many years to come...
Hope you get a 300Z kid, just be patient!
