2001 Nissan Altima GXE Limited Edition 2.4
Summary:
Toooo many problems with my 2001 Altima
Faults:
Intake manifold gasket went bad at around 70K - $400
Valve cover gasket is bad at 80K - maybe $200
Now the car is down - dealer says it needs new ECU (computer) and new Instrument cluster (gages) - estimated cost is $1800
Hub caps = loudest piece of crap.
Front bumper is loose - no easy way to fix it.
General Comments:
Buying this car has turned into a nightmare - after having it for 50K miles, the car is down and it needs close to $2000 to fix.
Maybe I got a bad car but one thing is for sure, I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I agree with this owner. I am a used car person and have had many different makes and models. I have A 2001 Altima Limited Edition, and it is the best car I have ever owned! Bought it with 88k miles, now has 142k miles and runs like it's new! Still runs better and feels more solid than our 2003 Ford Taurus. I have found a car that I will be loyal too.
