2002 Nissan Altima S 2.5
Summary:
The engine is no good
Faults:
After the pre-catalytic converter recall at 41,000 miles, my car started burning excessive oil. I complained to the dealer and they said that was normal.
At 45,000 miles, my mass air flow sensor failed, and at 62,000 miles, my throttle body failed, then the oxygen sensor followed and now my catalytic converter is bad, which is still under warranty until 80,000 miles.
I called the dealer to inform them of my catalytic converter failure, and the on going excessive oil consumption, and they are trying to say that they can't fix the problem; I need to show them proof of oil changes", which I have receipts of the oil changes, but they just don't want to admit they have a bad product, they're trying to avoid fixing these cars.
The particles from the pre-catalytic converter are going in the engine and causing the excessive oil burning. They said it themselves on the recall...
General Comments:
The car looks nice, but the engine is no good... I wish Nissan would stand up and take responsibility, and fix our cars.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
