2002 Nissan Altima SL 2.4
Summary:
Worst car. Don't buy used. Don't buy Nissan unless you want to burn your money
Faults:
Engine replaced in 2007 due to cat converter damage to cylinder.
Rad fluid disappeared.
Heater has not worked since 2004.
General Comments:
Worst car I have ever owned. My Nissan dealer thought I was crazy when I said the engine was giving me problems. Apparently Nissan had a recall for the cat converter in the USA but not Canada. Paid for a new engine as I could not afford a new car, and the body was in mint condition.
Many times insisted I did something wrong with the car, so after the engine was put in (2007) I expected things to be fine. I have only put 15,000KM on this new engine and again no heat; AGAIN rad fluid disappeared; again it is sluggish.
NEVER will I purchase a Nissan again, nor will I recommend. Nissan Corporate and my Nissan dealer have both been unhelpful. This was my second Nissan Altima (had 98) and both were taken care 100%. As a student whom is finally about to finish Grad school, I will use my first pay to get something from another car company.
It's sad that this is the customer service of such a big company. I guess they know better on how to retain and assist customers when the economy is getting worse by the month and dealerships are desperate for business in terms of car sales and service. A recession would force many people to go to smaller shops to get work done to save a few $. What do I know?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

309K miles with a $9K blue book value??? $5K trade in? Both seem to me a bit extreme...
