General Comments:

I love my Altima. I had a 2003 Honda Civic and wanted a bigger car considering I have 2 kids. I was considering the Honda Accord or Nissan Altima... i just couldn't make up my mind. I love Honda because of their reputation, but Nissan has a good reputation too so I test drove both and the Altima by far I loved. this car is roomy, but like a sports car in the acceleration department. I love my Altima and have had no problems with it and plan to keep it for a long, long time. anyone considering a mid-size car I would recommend an Altima any day!!!

Faults:

This car slips a fair amount when it is raining or snowing.

The door panels rattle when the music is loud.

General Comments:

My new Altima is great!!!

This is my first car I have bought and I am pleased with the performance, comfort, and looks of the car.

Highway driving is awesome because the ride is smooth and it has lots of power.

Overall this car is sporty and has luxury for the amount it costs.

Faults:

I found a solution for the Altima where it won't start if you shut down the engine within 30 seconds.

Since, all of the fuel (for some reason) isn't burned off in 30 seconds, the engine seems to have excess gas in the engine. So when you shut it off and then come back to it, the engine is flooded with too much fuel. The engine cranks, but doesn't kick over.

So what I did is find some way to force air down the intake. That way air gets into the engine and problem is fixed.

What I did is use a hair dryer that can blow cold air and a plastic bag to connect the hair dryer to the intake. Plus lots of duct tape to tape the two parts together. I had an assistant to do this task. I had him turn on the hair dryer first so it blows air into the engine, and then I cranked the engine. After two tries, the engine kicked over and started. But be careful, lots of air gets sucked in, so your plastic bag may get sucked in also which would be disastrous. Make sure the plastic bag is secure so it doesn't get sucked in. I will not take any responsibility for this idea. You do this at your own risk.

But basically, you need to force some air down into the intake and crank the engine while doing this. It will work.

Faults:

Oh goodness... where should I start? The car has 22,000 miles on it and the check engine light has come on and gone off. The rubber stripping on the top of the windshield is coming off, the weather stripping on the rear passenger door is coming off, the center console catches, and most recently, the car will not go into gear. For some reason the gearshift gets stuck and you cannot move it. I am not sure what the EXACT problem is at this time. It is scheduled to be fixed at Nissan.

General Comments:

The car for the most part is very nice to drive. The gas mileage is GREAT and it runs well for a 4 cylinder.
