1987 Nissan Hardbody Pickup 4x4 SE 3.0 V6
Summary:
Best "bang for the buck" purchase in my life
Faults:
At 13 months, the power window on the driver's side quit working. Nissan replaced it at no cost, even though it was 1 month over the warranty.
Oil pressure gauge never worked, even though it was replaced once.
Replaced drive shaft twice.
Rusted fenders and box.
Driver's cloth seat worn right thru.
Single lifter tapping away for the last 100k kilometers.
Changed plugs and air filter 155000 kilometers ago, and still passes BC air care easily every year.
I have owned about 15 vehicles since I started driving in 1963, and this is by far the very best vehicle I've ever owned.
Absolutely no complaints, and I'm still in love with this truck even after 26 years.
Fits like a glove.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

My company bought about 60 of those Hardbodies back in the 80s. No radio, no air, 2.4 engine, all blue, automatic transmissions. Very basic trucks.
The abuse those trucks took from the field workers, was in one word, crazy. They ran those things into buildings, cement poles, other vehicles, walls, concrete barriers, telephone poles, you name it, they ran into it or over it. But those trucks wouldn't die, no matter what was done to them... they kept running and running.
The company finally auctioned them off for peanuts. Most of them were running good, and could have run another 20 years. They then ended up replacing them with Ford Rangers, which weren't bad trucks, but were slower (V-6), harder to drive in tighter spots, and even though they were bigger extra cabs... had very little room inside. But that is progress for you.
