1991 Nissan Maxima SE V6
Summary:
So far so good, be careful when looking
Faults:
One major, and potentially life threatening problem with this vehicle is that water, mud, salt, and a variety of other materials can get lodged in between the gas filler neck, and the wheel well. This results in the filler neck rotting, as well as the wheel well. Where it rots on the wheel well is where the drivers side rear seat belt goes, and it will basically just fall off. You should check for the rotting condition by opening up the trunk and looking behind the liner. If it was fixed by Nissan you should be okay, but if not, and the damage exceeds what Nissan feels the car is worth, they will buy it back from you and total it out. I was lucky, the damage was repaired at the dealer. A testament to Nissan as the car is 15 years old. they stand behind their product. kudos.
General Comments:
Excellent power, handles amazing.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Sounds like the weather, and the high mileage has a lot to do with the problems you mentioned. Remember this not a new car, and you don't live in Arizona, where you could probable buy quality used parts at a reasonable price, and the car wouldn't rust. I think you're being too hard on the car!!!
