1995 Nissan Pathfinder
Summary:
Aggravating
Faults:
I bought a 95 SE Pathfinder and loved it at first. I had one account of the transmission fail-safe causing it not to shift out of 3rd gear, but it fixed itself and I never had a problem with it again for months.
Now anytime I drive in the overdrive for more than a few minutes, the fail-safe activates and I have to turn it off for at least 30 minutes before it will shift out of third. I think the tranny is overheating, but I'm not sure.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

It may be the transmission fluid temperature sensor. This is supposed to be a common problem with this transmission. Pretty easy fix and you can Google it.
We have a 1992 SE and it is a beast off-road. Smoked my brother's Jeep TJ.
Good luck with it. It is a superior vehicle if you can stop or slow down the rust!
