Faults:

The tires were worn out about three times and I had to get a new muffler, but that is it.

General Comments:

This car will take rough treatment, but will start in just the flip of the key. It has a lot of power and handles nicely. When a Nissan is at 100,000 miles it is just getting started, if you take care of this car than this car will take care of you. Don't be surprised if you get attached to it.

Faults:

I have changed the exhaust from the catalytic converter and back, and the front brake pads and disks which I consider normal wear and tear which eventually goes on any vehicle. Other than that the only thing that I have had to repair has been the alternator.

General Comments:

I have a lot of love for my car because it's been a car that I have wanted since I was about 12 years old (now 25).I really enjoy my car because it has never gave me any problems or ever left me stranded. It may only be a 1.6,4-speed manual, but there hasn't been a hill that it never got over without being slowed down. I also like the way it looks (plus a few things I've done to it).I put rain guards on both doors, tinted the windows, and put wide tires on it, as well as a killer sound system and of course an alarm. A lot of people say that these are uncomfortable cars, but I disagree because I have made many long trips in mine and never experienced any discomfort.

Faults:

I had the clutch replaced at about 130,000 miles.

The CV boots were replaced twice, the half-shafts once.

Had a slight oil leak from the front seal. Cheap to fix.

Everything else was maintenance-related; I.e. brakes, belts, battery, tires, filters, spark plugs, etc.

General Comments:

This was such a fantastic car to own. I recommend A Nissan for anyone looking for a reliable car.

Both the front and back seats are comfortable, even on long trips.

It's not a race car by any means, but quick enough with a manual transmission to get you where you want to go. It also handles fine.

I got decent gas mileage (averaged about 30 MPG), although over time it began to slip a little.

When you have a car for 9 years, you tend to get attached to it. It was still running strong at 150,000 miles, only showing slight signs of aging. The only reason I got rid of it is that it was totalled when I was rear-ended by another car. The years prior to '91 were rated low when it came to accident safety; but I can tell you that the body did it's job... the front and rear of the car were smashed in and the passenger compartment remained intact. I was very sad to part with this car, but got another Nissan.

General Comments:

Nissan builds cars well.

The car felt very light and responsive, even with a shot suspension and $15 13" tires.

Very slow but feels like it would respond to a few mods.

Decent ergonomics and comfort.

Although it feels fragile, it is built very strong. I spun out at high speed, the car went off the side (4ft dropoff) and cartwheeled, landing on its roof. I had not even a scratch, walked away, and the car still ran and drove!
