Faults:
Well when I first bought the car, it over heated in the first 100 miles. Why I'm not sure. The thermostat was getting stuck or the EGR valve, but I think it was the EGR valve was getting stuck. It stopped after that...
My A/C compressor went out, but I knew it would go sooner or later.
Then a week or two after I first bought it, the motor started giving me problems. Had symptoms of a burnt valve, but was a plugged injector. Took a while to fix. Super dirty fuel filter, but other than that, nothing major, the car runs like a champ now.

The Sentra SE-R is like no other Sentra in its class. This SE-R is a beast. This bad boy is powered by the mighty SR20DE, attached to a 5 speed LSD gearbox. 0-60 in 7.6, and quarter mile in 15.8, in STOCK FORM.
Add a few simple mods like cold air intake, header, and a 2.5 exhaust all the way back, and you've got yourself a nice little car, that will give most cars a run for their money.
I liked this car from day one. The SR20 has power and torque. This car is seriously fast for its age and price. It has power through all gears; she'll be in fifth, cruising at 40 MPH, and push the gas a little bit, and she'll pull to 80 without hesitating.
I like how people get surprised by how much power this car has; they don't expect a Sentra to have this much power. Everyone that drives this car, they seem to really like it. I let my uncle drive it one day, let him floor it, and he fell in love with it; offered me 2500 on the spot. I'd paid 2000 for it, and I turned it down.
These cars are classics. I drove 4 hours to buy one, and another 4 hours to bring it back. Trust me, if you can find one in good condition, buy one, you won't regret it.
I raced a 2008 Honda Civic SI stock 197hp and 142ft/lb, 6 speed close ratio gear box, and he only got me by a car. Raced the guy 3 times, and through all those times, the SER was right there next to him, giving him a hell of a time. The guy in the Civic didn't expect a fight out of a 16 year old car with ohh about 218K..
Anyways, the car is really fun to drive, handles great, and OH YEAH, she loves to be driven fast. It's hard to drive this car normally; it's like she wants to be in the the fast lane every time. Cruising at 70 is hard; this thing cruises, push the gas a little, and she'll jump 85 all the way to a 100, and she's just asking for more.
The car is quick; my friend has an Integra with intake, 3 inch exhaust and headers, and this car spanks it. It was giving him a hard time when I was stock.
Hope this review helps.

Hi, I have a 1991 SE-R. I was curious if you could elaborate on your self-serviced idle fix. That's the only constant "problem" with mine, as it sits anywhere from 1500-3000 at idle for the first 20 minutes of start up.
