Faults:

- Defective fuel pump (needs to crank 2 times in order to start the car).

- Flexible exhaust.

- 1 bearing.

- Part of my exhaust pipe cracked.

- Evap valve failure.

- Thermostat failure.

- My gear box light bulb failed.

- Glove box falls down on the floor if opened the bad way.

- My mid section box between the driver and passenger seat is broken.

- The CD player is broken.

General Comments:

When I bought this car, I thought since it was Japanese, it was indestructible. The fact is, I had to replace several parts, which I wouldn't expect to break down in a Japanese car (my fuel pump failed twice!!).

My first month of ownership was scary, since 90% of all failures mentioned above all occurred during that time. At that moment, I thought I bought a lemon. Fortunately, afterward, my car turned out being reliable (it's been a year I have had this car, and still own it).

Of course, my first car was an old Dodge Neon 1996, so the reliability factor isn't hard to beat. So I can say that I am satisfied, though if you own a Toyota or Honda (which are supposed to be the most reliable brands on the market), I would recommend you to stay clear from the Sentra, and still buy a Toyota or Honda.

Faults:

More interior noise as car gets older. (Noisy panels, no biggie).

General Comments:

Great economy car!

Don't be expecting anything speedy spectacular. First and foremost it's an economy car. Great MPG and solid mechanics are what you're going to get out of this vehicle.

I bought this car new and have put on over 120k myself and have had no major problems, other than routine maintenance.

The majority of the problems people are posting about this car are result of poor maintenance or driving habits, obvious routine maintenance issues and unimportant cosmetic issues.

If you keep up with the oil changes and other routine maintenance (that you're supposed to already do!), the car will love you back!

General Comments:

This car has pretty decent pickup when you consider how little horsepower it has. Especially when you turn overdrive off while accelerating.

This car has been smashed so many times and has never broken down mechanically. I rev this car to the redline sometimes when I really hit the gas, and it has responded and been faithful for so many years. I want to trade it in for a new GTI, simply because I want something new. Otherwise I could probably keep this car for a long time before trading it in.

Faults:

One headlight popped out a little bit, but hasn't fallen out completely.

Missing cupholder.

**UPDATE AS OF 7/3/10**

Got all dents repaired, etc. Nothing has gone wrong with the car yet and it has 80,000 miles!

General Comments:

It's a good car, very affordable, and I personally think you get a bit more than what you pay for. For those that want a real sports car, this is not that, however, you can step on the gas to rev it higher for fun...

Good quality, not much has gone wrong with it... I got hit by some idiot in a parking lot, so there's a dent that I still haven't fixed in it...

It's a good fun little car to have, I'm thinking about trading it in for a Scion tC, but only because it's getting a little old, not because it has any problems or anything...'

Added on 7/3/10: It's actually quite a bit of a pocket rocket if you're willing to rev it higher. I do it rarely but obviously constant use will make you pay at the pump and may wear out the car faster. Still nothing has gone wrong. Such a great car
