1990 Oldsmobile 88 4 door sedan V6 3.8
Summary:
Soulmate.
Faults:
Apparently before I got it, the only things done were a new alternator and new brakes. Looking at the car, this is quite believable.
Speakers apparently blew sometime before I got it to. I blew the last one the day I got it.
I had to have a new belt put on to bypass the air compressor, as it is just, well, it's trash.
New alternator at 226000 miles. That was a great night.
Driver seat has 1 slight sign of wear, other than that, it looks new.
Original tape player was complete trash. Replaced with some other tape player.
Doesn't like to idle when cold.
Hood latch is funky, and hood won't stay up for anything.
Sometimes dies when coming off the interstate into slower traffic.
General Comments:
This car cost me $200. I expected it to last about that many miles. I'm not sad to say it's lasted much longer.
I love this car, and would probably sink money into it before I'd get a newer car. It's insanely comfortable, fairly powerful, and it just has a cool feel to it.
I use it mostly for interstate travel, and it gets so-so gas mileage. It handles extremely well above 70 mph, although it shakes a little around 85 if you're not accelerating.
It could be pure speculation, but this car doesn't seem to attract speeding tickets, honestly. Cops just keep driving when you pass them at 90+ on the interstate.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Ya, I love my Oldsmobile.. but it recently got hit by a drunk driver, and they wanna give less than it's worth. It was a 90 and only had 79k miles on it.
