1992 Oldsmobile 98 Regency 3.8L
Summary:
The Oldmobile 98 is an Awesome American Ride - Very Comfortable
Faults:
When I bought the car it was kinda neglected, the previous owner did no repairs because they knew they were selling so did not want to put more money in the car. After I bought the car I immediately replaced the bad parts:
* Water Pump
* OEM PVC Valve
* Tune-up
* New OEM Wire Set
* New Front Brake System
* Replaced Thermostat.
Now the car runs like new.
General Comments:
I previously owned a Nissan Maxima and went to the Oldsmobile if you can believe it. The Nissan was very good, but as it got older the parts are very very expensive$$$. The parts replaced above are pennies compared to the Nissan. I laughed when they told me the prices of the parts -- so cheap!! For example, I bought new Brake Rotors at NAPA - they were $20 each (haha) ; the Maxima Rotors were $89 each!!
The Ninety-Eight is also very good on Gas. It gets about 18 miles per gallon city / 22 miles per gallon highway. The back seat is very very spacious and comfortable. The car overall is very roomy. This is a very rare car since most full size cars have V8's -- this one only has a V6 but has enough power to quickly move it. I would recommend this car to anyone; in fact when I've been asked by 3 people that when I sell the car to check with them first; they want to buy it!! If you get a chance to buy an Olds 98 - do it - it's an Awesome car. Once you drive a Full Size American car you will never go back to the small little Foreign ones again! My friend just bought the so called Full Size Toyota Avalon (my car made it look like a Pipsquik!!)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
