2000 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cylinder.
Summary:
For the most part, reliable with quirky, mostly minor, inconvenient problems
Faults:
I've had to replace the power window motor and regulator twice on the front driver's side and once on the passenger side.
The motor on my power driver's seat went out.
The first and second level of the interior fan doesn't work.
My "Service Engine Soon" light has been on for a while and after hooking it up to the computer it said it was miss firing which I was told was the Oxygen sensor.
My blinkers sometimes "click" so fast, it's a sustained buzz.
My rear defrost no longer works.
I have to get at least new brake pads, if not rotors, yearly.
The dome light falls out if slightly touched.
During the summer, when I have the air conditioner running through the panel vents, I have a hard time getting a CD to play because of the placement of the middle vent. The CD player gets hot while the vent blows the cold air causing the CD to fog up, a slight design flaw on Oldsmobile's part.
And finally, the dash is peeling up from the sun or whatever.
General Comments:
Even though my Alero has several problems, overall she's been pretty reliable with getting me from point A to point B. I've put 100,000 miles on my baby in the 5 years I've had her and I have to realize and hope my fellow Alero owners realize that it's a car, and things are going to go wrong and break. You can search any make/model vehicle and there will be pages of complaints. Just take care of your car and it should take care of you!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
