2001 Oldsmobile Alero 2.4L
Summary:
A lot of junk for your buck
Faults:
I bought the car used. Upon purchase, the mirrors had to be repainted and the dome lights had to be reattached to the roof. The paint on the radio was also peeling off.
At around 20,000 miles, driver side window stopped working.
Around 25,000 miles turn signals and hazard lights quit working.
Around 45,000 miles cruise control needed to be replaced.
Around 50,000 miles one of the engine fan motors had to be replaced.
Around 55,000 miles the ignition switch needed replacing as wasn't powering dash gages including the gas tank gage.
Seats are made out of cheap cloth and are not wearing well at all.
General Comments:
The car does give a lot of features for your buck (as long as the features don't break)
Large trunk.
Good handling.
Only one real cup holder in a 5 passenger car.
Has two cigarette lighters.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Just a follow up... Turns out that the car needed an extensive tune-up, with all new wires and seals. Power Steering has failed again... mechanic tried an additive, better for a few days and now doesn't work at all. NOw the Transmission started making this loud slamming/banging noise everytime it is put in gear and shifting between gears... really thrilled..
