1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais 3.8L 231 Buick
Summary:
How a car should be
Faults:
Nothing whatsoever other than standard maintenance things: changed the shocks, springs, battery, air cleaner etc.
General Comments:
Absolutely amazing vehicle, even 30 years after it was produced. Ride is comfortable, and it doesn't feel like your driving a boat.
Calais model with sport suspension, high ratio steering box makes this car take turns nicely. Parts are very cheap, and surprisingly not hard to find. Body style is the nicest compared to similar cars (Monte Carlo, Regal). Why buy a new car when you can have something extremely reliable, cheap, comfortable, and fun?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I agree with these comments.
I love my '79, 210,000 miles and still cruising. The maintenance costs are very low. I get around 20 MPG, still better than most of today's SUVs and trucks.
It is a great, solid, comfortable ride. Simple, easy to read dash board array.
It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
