Faults:

Well, there is not much that I have had problems with on my car. I got it when I turned 16 and wrecked it two weeks later. My heater and air system weres destroyed and the windshield was damaged badly.

Despite the damage I caused to it, the car was able to drive through a pasture of mud with no problems.

The only thing is that mine is a gas guzzler and that the interior lights have been replaced several times. Also the air conditioner has been worked on a total of seven times and when you turn it on, the battery dies.

General Comments:

Anyway, if you have no heater you can use the defroster, it works just as well. I love this car and I'm not giving it up for anything. My car is my baby!

It reaches 90 in under a minute and you can feel the power at the steering wheel.

Everything is electronic and easy to read. The engines hums perfectly down the road.

It handles great and the interior is so comfortable.

The International Series allows you to change the settings on the dash, unlike any car I have ever seen.

Seats two buckets in the front and a wide backseat, very, very comfortable.

I love this car!

Faults:

High pressure trans line blew.

Brakes are expensive due to the fact that over-sized brakes are standard.

Remote keyless entry works only sometimes.

General Comments:

Car handles great, but will slip when taken around a sharp curve as opposed too many curves one after another.

Car could have better acceleration, but what can you expect for a car of this weight with a 2.8L engine.

The 2.8L engine is very powerful for its size I have pushed my friend's car with it when his fuel pump went up.

The seats are very comfortable and almost mold to your body. The power seats have options you won't find on many other cars.

The digital instruments are great as is the on board computer.

Heat (climate control) varies with engine temperature.

Car is very fast and has no trouble hitting 90 MPH.

Car also gets great fuel economy.

Car has all around disk brakes that are over-sized and have no trouble at all brining the car to a stop very quickly.

Faults:

Rear brakes are a big problem.

Pins in the rear calipers seize up.

Front and rear struts are very expensive to rebuild or replace.

The exhaust system is expensive.

4 wheel disk before 1994 have many problems with the rear system, and the braking power is poor.

I had to have the transmission rebuilt because it was heated up due to a bad core in the radiator.

The seats are wearing out badly.

Very uncomfortable ride.

General Comments:

The car does handle well in the corners and the power wings on the front bucket seats hold you in tight.

The car has very good gas mileage.

I like the digital display in the dash.

I have owned the car 6 years and I love the style of it, but the 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass International is a very expensive car to maintain, so someone with a part time job may find it difficult to keep a car like this on the road.

Faults:

There are starting to be little annoying things like door locks not working, but at 275,000 miles, I'll take it. There was a rebuilt transmition at around 120,000 miles and a replaced starter at about 80,000 miles, otherwise nothing major.

General Comments:

These engines are what cars should be made of. Absolutely unbelievable. The interior of an Oldsmobile isn't made from the cheap stuff that Chevy uses either.
