1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL 3.1 V6
Faults:
Fuel pressure regulator and alternator at 155k.
Battery, negative battery terminal, and wires connecting to the starter ground at 156k.
Unresolved issues:
ECT sensor is bad because the fans do not work unless if the sensor is unplugged. I leave it plugged in so I have a temp gauge. I just drive with the heater on whenever the gauge goes past half way to hot. Only reason it has not been fixed is because it is in a hard to reach location.
Rear right caliper has been leaking fluid since 190k.
Whining noise just started coming from the rear of the car today after the coolant was changed at 193k. I was told the fuel pump is failing.
General Comments:
Well besides all the issues listed, I think it's a great car for $700.
It has always started right up and gotten me where I had to go, even on the days it had to be jump started before the wires to the starter were fixed.
Acceleration is pretty good when you need it. Never a problem getting onto the freeway or passing other cars.
I'd buy another for cheap if I could find one. I don't know if I will fix the fuel pump when it fails completely.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

All I have to say is I have an olds cutlass and nothing has gone wrong and it runs great (maybe you have a lemon)
Just wondering what do you drive now...
