Faults:

Transmission went 5 months after buying it. All the belts went shortly after. It leaks oil into the spark plugs. The lower front ball joint had to be replaced. Having more problems with transmission currently. Water pump had to be replaced a year ago. Many more minor problems.

General Comments:

When it is working properly the car drives very smoothly and is very roomy. I think it is a very attractive car. I would be very happy with this car if it wasn't having to be fixed every 3 to 6 months. I have put in more money in repairs than I paid for the car in the first place. I will never buy a Chrysler again.

Faults:

I don't even know where to begin!

The dash board rattles and creeks incessantly.

The engine totally blew and the head gaskets went bad. I had to have the engine pulled, the cylinders boored out, and sent to a machinist for pressure-testing before re-installing. Cost about $1,500 for all necessary repairs.

The front wheel bearings have gone...twice! Cost about $400.

The belts all went at about 110,000 miles and the brakes did too. Cost about $1,200 for all repairs.

General Comments:

This car has cost more to upkeep than it was to purchase. Ridiculous.

I suppose it has been not the worst car in the world given that I bought it for only $5000. But, with the upkeep, it has cost me well over $9000, over the 4 years I have owned it. That's over $2000 per year, so I might as well be leasing a brand new car.

Faults:

Head gasket had to be replaced at 20,000 miles and 50,000 miles.

Driver's seat cushion close to door separated with part of coil wearing through at 50,000 miles.

Water pump froze up at 90,000 miles. Damaged a cylinder (no compression). Replaced all cylinders.

Catalytic converter had to be replaced at 97,000 miles.

General Comments:

Bought the car new in 1996. One owner. Very spacious car with decent gas mileage.

The standard 4 cylinder engine that came with it lacks power. Typical 4-cylinder MOPAR engine. Very sluggish.

This car went through a couple head gaskets like hundreds of other Breezes. Definite manufacturer screw-up there.

I like the look of the car. Kind of sporty. I have the spoiler on the trunk lid. The interior has stayed in decent shape except for the driver's seat back cushion. The paint has lasted somewhat. It has the usual weathering on the hood, top, and trunk.

Maintenance costs were minimal until the water pump went and I had to have the head worked on. That cost around $1,500.

Faults:

My oil valve blew at roughly 80,000 miles.

The dash board instrument panel has had many difficulties. The first of which being that the only vent currently working is the windshield vent. Secondly the heater makes a lot of rattling noises when on full blast.

The hinges on the hood and doors are rusted and very squeaky.

I have had to fix the heat shield twice already as it is constantly coming loose and rattling.

General Comments:

Overall this car has been very good to me. It is incredibly reliable and for the amount of miles of interstate travel that I do it has held up well.

Not much power under the hood, it tends to work overtime to gain momentum up a hill.

The interior is fantastic! I love the room and design, it is very comfortable and very spacious.

The instrument panel is also very well arranged and easy to access and understand.
