Faults:

Vehicle was not properly maintained by the previous owners.

Upper and lower ball joints, pitman arm, both front brake hoses and 1 brake caliper replaced in August 2002.

Poor front end alignment finally corrected 2 weeks ago.

Several rust spots are starting to worsen.

General Comments:

Dealership, who advertised the vehicle on a web site, upped the advertised price of $1188 to $1588 when I arrived at their facility. Settled on a $1388 price.

This 318 Chrysler lean-burn is quick in the mornings when the engine is cold, but seems to strain when it gets hot.

Now that the front end is aligned and I have 2 new tires, the ride has improved tremendously.

My all-time best for on-the-road mileage was 25.5 MPG. In-town figures are averaging 13-15 MPG.

I have never owned a car longer than this one and it will be 6 years on June 5, 2004.

Car-fax web site has 17 hits (reports) on this car. I've never sent in the required fee.

Faults:

"Lean Burn" ignition system is a complete joke. Car had alignment problems from previous owner. (Repaired) Front seat not real comfortable on long trips.

General Comments:

Former Police Cruiser from Grapevine, Texas P.D. Purchased as a surplus unit. Very solid car, really, but you'll never confuse it for it's Fifth Avenue "Brother". Very spartan car. As long as you ditch that awful Lean Burn junk off of it (Kit is available from Chrysler), it's not a bad running car?
