Faults:

Went through three transmissions. My dad does not believe that you should stop before you shift. He is very hard on vehicles. He blames the transmissions on bad quality. but every car he drives goes through transmissions.

When my mom and dad both drove it it only went through one transmission rebuild. When my dad got it to himself he needed to replace the wheel barrings, front shocks, and tons of other front end parts. and he went through two transmissions. which arnt cheap. The last time he had it to a shop it was $3000 to fix the tranny. But its not my dad says its old it will go through those things.

General Comments:

It was a very good car until my dad got his hands on it. it drove smoothly, handled well in the snow, started up all the time, and was very roomy.

The seats were very comfortable.

I hauled my dirt bike in the back at times.

So tell me is it bad for a transmission, if you don't stop before shifting?

Faults:

At my last service, dealer states, sway bar bushings should be replaced.

Didn't have it done because the slight noise doesn't bother me.. Is this an important repair?

That's it, actually.. The tires seem to make a lot of noise and the dealer also advised me to purchase new ones.. They are about half worn now so I'm not in a hurry to replace them.

I'm very pleased with the vehicle and would purchase another one (any Van made by Chrysler)

General Comments:

The record of maintenance was in the glove compartment.. The previous owner kept right up with all the repair and service.

This is a basic van.. no auto windows, no remote, no cruise control, no auto doors. Does have a good radio and tape player.

Inside is perfect condition. clean and attractive outside. Very comfortable.I get nothing, but good comments and I really like the van.

Faults:

Theses things are JUNK. The 3.0 is very weak and gas mileage sucks.

We bought the van and less than 50 miles later had to take it back to the dealer. They said nothing is wrong with it. (They pulled the battery cable and reset the computer).We got the van and 66 miles later check engine light was back on. Took it back again (4th time in a week) They finally found out what was wrong (1 Month later and $1300 later) The van needed new valves, Head Gaskets, Timing Belt).Since they fixed these problems, I still don't feel comfortable driving it.

General Comments:

Seats are very uncomfortable. Passenger side under seat glove box needs to sit back farther (I pulled it out and threw it in the back).

Cup holders really suck (turn corners and the drinks fall out).

Visor clips constantly breaking, no matter what you do.

Headlights really get yellow and visibility stinks.

The only thing is this doesn't have the crappy A604 Overdrive Trans.

Faults:

My head gasket blew at 47,000 miles

The brakes wear out quickly and are costly to replace (multiple times @350+)

The door handles needed repair when new (now that's a first for me)

Radiator needed replacement (due to head gasket failure I was told)

Struts needed replacement

Transmission failed at 49,000 miles

Replaced transmission failed within 1000 miles (replaced at dealer cost, but...)

Windshield wipers turn on for no reason

Radio is adequate, but cassette player never worked

Wheel bearings needed replacement at 35K

Driver's seat doesn't lock properly and slides unexpectedly

Power steering fails unexpectedly (started at around 38,000 miles)

The odometer, gas gauge and speedometer all work fine.

General Comments:

Daimler Chrysler has not warranted their work on, in particular, the head gasket and transmission. This is a very bad indicator of quality, to be sure.

My warranty was only for 36000 miles, but I have never had a transmission and head gasket blow before. The 4 cylinder engine (also used in a Neon) is notoriously bad, but no recalls to date.

Adequate for light (very light) duty and if you can tolerate high cost repairs.
